Students sing for a cause:

Naperville-area high school singers will perform from 5 to 10 p.m. Monday, June 22, outside Lou Malnati's, 131 W. Jefferson Ave., Naperville. The restaurant will donate 20 percent of the evening's sales to KidsMatter, a nonprofit group dedicated to building developmental assets in area youth. Choral groups from Naperville North, Naperville Central, Waubonsie Valley and Neuqua Valley high schools and the School of Performing Arts will provide music for the evening.

Aurora Ave. work starts:

Naperville will begin resurfacing Aurora Avenue from Route 59 to Ogden Avenue today, weather permitting. Traffic along this stretch of road will be reduced to one lane in each direction from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. All lanes will be open on Sunday. The resurfacing work is expected to resume on Monday, June 22, and continue throughout the week. During the weekdays, traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes to avoid delays.

Tower seats for fireworks:

Naperville's Millennium Carillon Foundation is raffling 16 spots to view the city's July 4 fireworks from the 140-foot-high observation deck atop the Moser Tower along the Riverwalk. Four winning tickets will be good for four spots each. Tickets are $10 or three for $25 and are being sold at the Naperville Park District offices, 320 W. Jackson Ave. and 3415 Book Road; the visitors center adjacent Moser Tower; and at the carillon Summer Recitals, 7 p.m. on Tuesdays. Winning tickets will be drawn at the June 30 recital, but winners need not be present to collect.
