Gitmo pales next to WWII atrocities
Judy Arenas' June 4 letter decries our use of "torture" and notes the prosecution of Japanese and German war criminals after World War II. Ms. Arenas clearly needs a history lesson. How do the interrogation techniques used at Gitmo equate with genocide? How do they equate with lethal "medical" experimentation? How do they equate with exterminating millions of Jews, Poles and Gypsies? How do they equate with the use of deadly biological agents on Chinese civilians? How do they equate with the abduction and rape of Korean women? How do they equate with the Bataan death march?
Do your homework before making ludicrous comparisons. How many have been killed as a result of the "torture" at Gitmo? How many have been disfigured as a result of the "torture" at Gitmo? How many have suffered lasting physical injury as a result of the "torture" at Gitmo?
