Accomplishments noted at Hoffman Estates meeting

Vicki Richardson's smile has been a staple at Hoffman Estates village hall for 20 years.

Trustee Cary Collins remarked at Monday's board meeting that Richardson's youthful appearance and energy must mean she started to work for the village right out of high school.

The village recognized Richardson, a legislative aide, for her 20 years of service Monday. Mayor William McLeod called her an asset since she started in 1989. Collins summed it up succinctly when he shook her hand.

"Thank you for tolerating me, Vicki," he said.

Richardson wasn't the only one who received recognition Monday. Village Attorney Art Janura will celebrate his 60th birthday on Monday. Meanwhile, Village Manager James Norris took the mantle last week as president of the Illinois City/County Management Association.
