Exelon slows Byron 2 reactor to 90% capacity
Exelon Corp., the largest U.S. nuclear power producer, slowed the Byron 2 reactor in Illinois to 90 percent of capacity from 100 percent yesterday, according to a report by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
The 1,136-megawatt reactor is located about 90 miles west of Chicago. Another reactor at the site, Byron 1, is operating at capacity, according to the commission.
