Petros has Lake Geneva bass on the run

Angling guru Spence Petros reports from Lake Geneva that this season for bass is one of the best in years.

Petros has embarked on a new guiding service and his bookings reflect his prowess on the water.

"My boat has been averaging 35-70 largemouth and smallmouth a day," he said, "and I hardly have time to take a break."

Fishing report:

Fox Chain: The walleye action continues to improve with the addition of fresh water and faster current. Decent fish being taken right off the Spring Lake Channel, the Route 12 bridge area and the necked-down areas of Pistakee Lake. Bluegill fishing is spectacular on Channel and Fox Lakes.

Fox River: Smallmouth a tad slow with the high water, so concentrate on areas close to shore and outflow pipes.

Lake Michigan: Perch decent at Montrose and Belmont Harbors when the wind is down. Salmon action has slowed a bit out of Waukegan but some boats are having to go out some distance.
