No plan for Gitmo prisoners
In an interview with BBC ahead of his trip the Middle East and Europe, President Obama said: "I think the thing that we can do most importantly is serve as a good role model. And that's why closing Guantanamo, from my perspective, as difficult as it is, is important"
But nobody wants to take the Guantanamo prisoners. Other countries don't want the prisoners, and the U.S. governors don't want them in their states. Congress has refused to appropriate the money to close Guantanamo until Obama comes up with a plan about what to do with the prisoners. Sadly Obama has no plan. When we are in a war, does it make sense to release the captured enemy prisoners so they can fight us again? It might make sense to Obama but not to anyone one else. Does Obama think he is serving as a good role model, by rashly promising to close Guantanamo without any idea about what to do with the prisoners?
