Let's clean house in Springfield

Here we go again. The infamous Illinois State legislature is at it again. All these many months we thought it was just our corrupt governor. It would appear that all that media attention was a ploy to get our attention from the real problem. Most of the members of the State Assembly have been in their jobs for many years but seem unable to pass any meaningful legislation and pass this off as "debate." Oh yes, but there is one piece of legislation they are always able to endorse - their own salary increases. Perhaps if we were to forego those increases along with the very generous pensions we pay them for part-time work, we could balance the budget.

While we consider voting for recall of the governor we should think about really cleaning house and remove those legislators who seem to think their positions are their personal endowments. Seriously, could we do any worse?
