Truck rollover causes injuries, delays in Naperville

Police and emergency personnel spent Wednesday afternoon working to clear the interchange at the Reagan Memorial Tollway and Route 59 in Naperville after a semitrailer truck rolled over while making a turn at the start of rush hour.

Officials responded to calls just before 4 p.m. when the truck carrying sand rolled over and spilled its diesel fuel reserves.

Naperville police Cmdr. Dave Hoffman said there were injuries at the scene, but he did not know how many people were hurt or if they were transported to area hospitals. He also said he was unsure which direction the truck was turning or if other cars were involved in the accident.

Drivers experienced extensive lane blockage at the interchange, which Hoffman said police were working hard to clear.
