Summer lane reductions for Golf, Higgins roads

Lane reductions are in effect for bridge work over Salt Creek on both Higgins Road in Elk Grove Village and Golf Road in Rolling Meadows.

IDOT's $1.9 million project will reduce traffic on both roads down to one in each direction and is likely to cause backups.

The Higgins Road section is expected to be completed in early July and the Golf Road section, where work is starting today, by Oct. 31.

The project is replacing the beams and decks of both roadway bridges.
