Reputed mobster freed on $1 million bond
Reputed mob figure Michael "The Large Guy" Sarno has been freed on $1 million bond after pleading not guilty to a racketeering charge.
The 51-year-old Sarno was arraigned Tuesday in federal court in Chicago and confined to house arrest pending trial. He is required to wear an electronic monitoring bracelet.
Six other men are also charged in the case.
The case stems from a February 2003 bombing that wrecked the offices of a company that distributed video gaming equipment. Prosecutors say it was a warning from the mob to stop horning in on its gambling operations.
