Teen pleads guilty to pretending to be Chicago cop
A 15-year-old boy accused of pretending to be a Chicago police officer and later parading as a grown-up to steal a car from a dealership has pleaded guilty in both incidents.
Cook County state's attorney's office spokesman Andy Conklin says the unidentified teen will be sentenced June 26, pending a court-ordered psychological evaluation.
He pleaded guilty last month.
The boy was charged with impersonating an officer for allegedly walking into a police station in January wearing a uniform. He was sent out on patrol and assisted in an arrest before being discovered.
While still under electronic monitoring, the boy, who doesn't have a license, allegedly dressed in a suit and stole a Lexus from a dealership after telling sales staff he wanted to go on a test drive.
