U of I clout list must stop immediately

We have sent our five children through college without any help from an elected representative and resent sharing the cost of those students who are on the "Category I" list.

As legislators, they should be working for all the people, not the select who are no doubt contributing to their campaigns in some way. What is the university teaching these students? They are showing that it's "who you know" that gives you a break, not how hard you study and do your work honestly.

A good start in cutting the budget is to have the legislator pay the tuition for those students on his "Category I" list. We'll see how fast that list will be eliminated!

Governor Quinn seemed to be for the people when he was Lt. Governor. But he sure changed! He keeps saying that orphans, the poor and the elderly will be hurt unless the big tax raise is approved, but he thinks that new furniture, remodeling offices, new landscaping, etc. is essential. Illinois is the butt of many jokes because of our recent past governors and legislators, and now we have a governor who is trying to tax us into bankruptcy.

Term limits are a must! Most politicians get so comfortable being elected over and over, they forget they should be working for the people. We should all remember this during the next election.

When are the taxpayers going to get honest government?
