Chicago officer charged in sex assault
Authorities say a Chicago police officer has been charged with sexually assaulting an underage family member.
Forty-three-year-old William Greenwood was being held Thursday in lieu of $350,000 bail after being charged with criminal sexual assault.
Chicago police say the nine-year veteran has been relieved of police powers.
Cook County Assistant State's Attorney Kathleen Muldoon says the alleged assaults on the teenage girl occurred between Feb. 1 and May 1.
It's not clear if Greenwood has an attorney. No one answered the telephone at a number for a William Greenwood in Chicago.
