ESO reduces weekend's ticket prices

The Elgin Symphony Orchestra has announced that all seats for this weekend's final Classics Series concerts of the 2008-09 season will be $25.

The reduced-price tickets are available online at elginsymphony.org, or by phone through the ESO box office at (847) 888-4000 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. In addition, there are a limited number of $15 tickets available for each of the four performances at Elgin's Hemmens Theatre.

The concerts - at 1:30 and 8 p.m. Friday, June 12; 8 p.m. Saturday, June 13; and 3:30 p.m. Sunday, June 14 - will be conducted by music director Robert Hanson. They will feature guest artist Terrence Wilson playing Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg's Piano Concerto in A minor. The all-Scandinavian program will also include "Finlandia" by Finnish composer Jean Sibelius, and the Symphony No. 4 by the 20th century Danish composer Carl Nielsen.
