Lake Forest Hospital opening wound center

Plans are moving forward for a new wound center expected to open at Lake Forest Hospital in August.

Located at 900 N. Westmoreland Road, Lake Forest, the facility will specialize in the treatment of chronic wounds and nonresponsive conditions. Created in partnership with Florida-based National Healing Corp., a large wound care management company, it will offer hospital-based outpatient wound care as well as disease management and diabetes care.

Anne O. Craft, a health care development and policy executive with more than 18 years of experience, has been named program director at the wound centner. She will be responsible for all aspects of the center's operation including ensuring quality patient care, recruiting and hiring, compliance with federal and state guidelines, budgeting and fiscal policies and marketing and sales.

A resident of St. Charles, Craft most recently served as practice manager with the department of surgery at DuPage Medical Group.

Lake Forest Hospital Wound Center will have leading-edge hyperbaric oxygen chambers which surround the patient with 100 percent oxygen at higher than normal atmospheric pressure to increase the amount of oxygen in the blood and promote healing form the inside out.
