ESO performance to offer a Scandinavian touch

Terrence Wilson has established a reputation as one of America's most gifted instrumentalists playing with a multitude of orchestras both nationally and abroad. He joins the Elgin Symphony Orchestra June 12-14 to perform the Norwegian composer, Edvard Grieg's famous Piano Concerto in A minor. This Scandinavian Experience is rounded out with the blockbuster "Finlandia" by Finnish composer Jean Sibelius, and Symphony No. 4 "Inextinguishable" by the 20th century Danish symphonist Carl Nielsen.

Tickets to this event start at $15 for all concerts. Performance times are 1:30 and 8 p.m. Friday, June 12; 8 p.m. Saturday, June 13; and 3:30 p.m. Sunday, June 14. All performances are at the Hemmens Cultural Center in downtown Elgin.

"Lunch with the Maestro" is offered at 11:30 a.m. June 12 before the Friday matinee in the Heritage Ballroom at the Centre of Elgin, across from the Hemmens Cultural Center. Lunch with the Maestro tickets can be reserved for $20 until Monday, June 8.
