Roger Walker heading for Prisoner Review Board
SPRINGFIELD -- The outgoing head of the Illinois Department of Corrections has landed a new job on the Illinois Prisoner Review Board.
Gov. Pat Quinn is replacing Roger Walker Jr. with Michael Randle, a top official in Ohio's prison system, as head of the corrections department. Walker's appointment to the Prisoner Review Board is temporary, pending confirmation of his appointment by the Illinois Senate.
Walker was named in 2002 to the top spot at the corrections department by ousted former Gov. Rod Blagojevich.
According to the state comptroller's office, Walker was paid $150,228 as corrections director. He will be paid $85,886 as a member of the Prisoner Review Board.
