Crash shuts down I-88

A rollover crash on eastbound I-88 shut down both sides of the tollway around 6 p.m. Thursday. State police said the rollover occurred at mile marker 108.5 in Kane County. A female driver was traveling east in the left lane when she crossed into the right lane and then into a ditch. Her car flipped over and then hit a tree, police said. The woman was flown to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove. Her condition was not available Thursday night. The highway was shut down in both directions to allow the helicopter to land, police said. The cause of the crash is still being investigated. Nobody else was in the car, and no other vehicles were involved.
