Registration opens for Hampshire youth football

The final registration for the upcoming Hampshire Youth Football and Cheerleading season will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 6, at the Hampshire Park District office, 390 South Ave., Hampshire. They accept registrations from surrounding communities that include Gilberts and Pingree Grove.

Football for ages 7-14 costs $155. Cheerleading for kindergarten to eighth grade costs $125. There is a family discount of two children less $50, three children less $100, or cost for four or more is the same as three children.

The football team plays in the Illini Youth Football league. Players are placed onto a team based on age, weight and grade restrictions to make the experience fun and safe for everyone.

Cheerleaders practice all season to compete in competitions at the end of season. Cheerleaders learn cheers, chants and dance routines that are performed at games and at competitions.
