Is it for your safety or for your money?
It seems to me that in today's world if it is for your safety it means big dollars for the police. I'm getting pretty tired about hearing click it or ticket. It should be click it or stick it. Just seems that our freedom is slowly being taken away by "it's for your safety." I don't know what it costs to have such a big ad campaign for this, but for the average person it's just a way to take food money from the family. It should be my right to take care of my safety.
I travel down Golf Road every day through Hoffman Estates. I have to put my speed control on because it is the biggest speed trap ever. You have a six-lane highway that goes from 45 mph to 35 mph. People are not drag racing, they just want to get to work. The cops hide all through the car dealerships.
Let's face it - the only reason you would need an unmarked cop car is to catch a speeder. If the cops made money from catching crooks, there might not be much crime. When was the last time you saw a police car just driving through your neighborhood? That would be for your safety, but there is no money in that. Now they put up cameras to catch you going through yellow lights; but if you slam on your brakes, the guy behind you will slam into you. Schaumburg made over a million dollars just at Christmas on people turning into Woodfield to go shopping.
Now they want to put cameras up to catch you speeding. Of course it does not matter who is driving - the person who owns the car is getting the ticket. This is for your safety. When is it going to stop? The economy is in a bad shape now and the government just keeps digging deeper.
I think it is time to move to the hills. This would be for my safety.
