Machine falls in home opener

The Chicago Machine made history Saturday hosting the first professional lacrosse game ever at Soldier Field, but the Boston Cannons made the most noise to come away with a 16-14 victory.

The Machine (1-2) opened the scoring only 40 seconds into the game as Mike Leveille scored off an assist from his older brother, Kevin Leveille. The Cannons, however, taking advantage of several early penalties, led 7-4 at halftime and continued to build their lead in the second half. A four-goal surge in the fourth by the Machine wasn't enough as Boston held on for the win. The Machine will host the Denver Outlaws at Toyota Park at 3 p.m. Sunday.
