School bus in Carpentersville crash
Two Dundee-Crown High School students were being evaluated for injury this afternoon after a Community Unit District 300 school bus was involved in a crash near the intersection of Skyline Drive and Deerpath Lane in Carpentersville.
District 300 Communications Supervisor Allison Smith said there were at least 10 Dundee-Crown High School students aboard the bus on their way home at the time of the crash, which remains under investigation. Police scanner reports earlier indicated that as many as 30 students were on the bus.
At least two students were being evaluated at the scene as a precaution, Smith said. Remaining students were being placed on another bus to continue home.
A Carpentersville police officer confirmed another vehicle was involved in the crash, which happened about 3:30 p.m. Skyline Drive remains blocked.
The Kane County Sheriff's deputies and several local agencies are on the scene at this time.
