History Channel repackages 'America At War'

"The History Channel: America At War"

We recently celebrated Memorial Day by honoring all those Americans who have served their country. With that in mind, the History Channel's "America At War" has been repackaged, re-priced and newly promoted.

The 14-disc set is perfect for history buffs, schools and libraries. The programs show many facets of war, using amazing footage and documents that many will see for the first time. The collection is shown in chronological order, and will keep your attention throughout.

The programs are: "American Revolution," "The Alamo," "The Civil War," "World War I." "World War II," "Korean War," "Vietnam War," "Gulf War" and "The Iraq War."

"Harlan Ellison: Dreams With Sharp Teeth"

Harlan Ellison is an American treasure and one of the finest writers of the 20th century. He has written more than 75 books, 700 stories and two dozen teleplays, winning too many awards to mention.

This terrific documentary captures Ellison over 25 years of interviews, and we see him warts and all. He has been called "an unholy fusion of Lenny Bruce and Mark Twain." He can be inspiring, irritating and lovable. He takes us through many phases of his life; through it all, his love of writing is apparent. Ellison writes on an Olympia manual typewriter, and everything about him is unique, including the home he lives in. There are also candid conversations with Robin Williams, Neil Gaiman, Ron Moore and others.

"TV Sets: Forever Funny"

This excellent collection of television sitcoms will let fans of the shows relive memories from years past. The premiere episode of each is featured.

The seven shows are: "I Love Lucy," "The Odd Couple," "The Brady Bunch," "Taxi," "Frasier," "Cheers" and "The Honeymooners."

"TV Sets: Action Packed"

Fans of these exciting shows can travel back to their beginnings and see the premiere episodes of each.

Included are "Mission Impossible," "MacGyver," "Walker, Texas Ranger" and "NCIS."

"Diana Krall: Live in Rio"

Jazz singer and pianist Diane Krall has put together an outstanding show that was recorded in Rio last November. It's a great-looking, great-sounding concert using world-class musicians, producers and cameras. Krall uses the Bossa Nova style at times, and even goes unplugged on the rooftop of her hotel.

The songs include "Where or When," "Too Marvelous For Words," "I've Grown Accustomed To His Face," "Walk On By," "Cheek to Cheek," "The Boy From Ipanema" and many more. If you have never seen or heard Diane Krall before, add this one to your collection.
