Notre Dame was wrong on Obama

As a Roman Catholic educated in the Catholic schools I was very dismayed at a pro-abortion president being the honorary speaker at the University of Notre Dame commencement. The reasoning was that he is the president of the United States. I don't care if he was the Duke of Earl.

The church dropped the ball on this one like they did with the priest pedophile scandal. Notre Dame should be stripped of its Catholic status and be just another secular university. The church should realize that their liberal tendencies are driving many young Catholics away and into the touchy-feel-good secular sects.

They can't preach pro-life and have a pro-abortion speaker at their schools. Other religions and ethnic groups adhere to their beliefs. I have lost respect for Notre Dame and will not even watch their football games in the future.

Having just seen the Russian ballet from St. Petersburg Russia I remarked to my daughter how disciplined the entire troupe was. The Catholic Church could well learn to be just as united and disciplined in its faith, both the clergy and lay people.
