Online architecture contest
The city of Geneva is conducting an architectural treasure hunt contest to celebrate National Historic Preservation Month. Visit geneva.il.us and click on "community development/historic preservation." Correctly completed entries will be put in a drawing for gift certificates to be used at Geneva stores. Entries are due at 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 26.
Museum promo for kids
Children who participate in the "Passport to Adventure" program will find plenty of opportunities for excitement and journeys through history at Preservation Partners of the Fox Valley's Fabyan Villa Museum, Japanese Garden, Durant House Museum and Beith House Museum. Between Memorial Day and Labor Day, children ages four to 12 with passports in hand can explore these museums and others in Kane and DuPage counties. If they collect seven stamps, they will receive a prize. Passports are available after Memorial Day at each museum, as well as at the St. Charles Public Library, 1 S. Walking club forms
Geneva Park District is offering a new walking club. An informational meeting is at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 27 at the Stephen D. Persinger Recreation Center, 3507 Kaneville Road. All fitness levels are welcome and participants will walk at their own pace. Call Mickey Boyle at (630) 262-2214.

Senior spelling bee
Registration is due Tuesday, June 2 for the local portion of the Illinois State Senior Spelling Bee, to be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 6 at the Sugar Grove Police Department, 25 Municipal Drive.
