Deaths of innocents vs. guilty not same
In response to Gary Schutte's "Judge Obama invite same as Bush invite".
I see a difference in your death analogy and do not agree that the two can be judged equal.
Consider the following:
The Catholic Church does oppose the death penalty because today in our country we do have the facilities to incarcerate individuals who have been judicially deemed a grave threat to society, as example murderers. It is the intent of our judicial system to pursue a fair trial before these non-innocent, found guilty, human beings are sentenced. In those states that still retain the death penalty" those found guilty can be sentenced to the death penalty. You referenced 125 deaths in Texas. In the states that continue to retain the death penalty option, the Catholic Church, among others, speaks out in opposition.
Please now consider the 50 million deaths in this country of innocent human beings since the Supreme Court ruling on Roe vs. Wade, March 1973. Without any judicial protocol, the least among us, the most innocent among us are sentenced to death. A women's womb by the law of this land can be used as a place of murder.
Because Obama's pro death choice voting record holds no restraints on killing the most innocent among us, he did not belong at Notre Dame University. And, the Bishops, of the Church have made this clear to members of the university staff.
