Public law - vs. God's law - can flex

I found J. Lippert's comments on Dave Crost's topic, "Relax, gay marriage is no big deal," to be a tad bit biased considering they are based on a religiously-backed point of view.

Gay marriage is not a religious issue. Gay marriage challenges public law and though our public laws may have been based on God's laws, the fact remains that public laws are flexible, dynamic and can be changed, in contrast to God's laws, which never change.

Therefore, I guess I beg to differ with J. Lippert. This is a free country, however, and I suppose we're all entitled to our own opinion.
