GOP should look at these poll numbers
This is in response to Mr. Pontarelli's letter regarding Obamas' lack of bipartisanship, Bush-haters, etc.
I do not believe many people hate Bush on a personal level but a majority hate what his administration has done to this country during his eight years in office.
I'm not sure I can say the same about the attitude of some toward Obama during his first 100 days. A recent ABC News/Washington Post poll found that 73% of Americans say that Obama has been trying to gain bipartisan support but only 34% of Americans believe that Republicans are willing to compromise.
The Pew Research Center poll of Obamas" first 100 days in office showed that 93% of Dems, 30% of Republicans and 58% of Independents approved of the job he was doing. The same poll regarding his personal favorability scored 96% with Dems, 46% with Republicans and 72% with Independents. These polls indicate that divisiveness may not be as much a problem with the electorate as it is with our elected representatives.
Finally, Mr. Pontarelli laments, "What are conservatives to do?" I would suggest cutting back on your Hannity-Limbaugh-O'Reilly intake, and if the polls are any indication, sit back and enjoy the next eight years.
