Want my vote? Vote for reform - now

To my representatives in the state legislature, the only ones for which I have the opportunity to cast a vote for or against in future elections, Rep. Ramey and Sen. Millner.

In order for you to have any possibility of earning that vote, you must do the following two things:

1. Make every effort to bring the recommendations of the Reform Commission to a vote in the present session of the legislature and then make sure those recommended reforms are accepted and implemented.

2. Make certain that your 2.8% pay increase effective in July of this year is rescinded and then pass a 5% decrease in the pay of all statewide elected officials.

Gentlemen, let's face facts. You and all state officials have contributed to the fiscal mess that the state is in and, therefore, you should lead the way in getting us out of it

You have been the beneficiaries of pay increases of 17.7% in the past two years. It is time for you to show some leadership and contribute to putting the state on sound financial ground

This 5% will not balance the budget, but it would give a message to the people of the state that you are serious in wanting to resolve our problems.
