Misericordia thanks you for Candy Day
When times are tough the true character of a community comes to the foreground. The generous people of Palatine and surrounding towns proved their strong, supportive character with their gracious donations to this year's Misericordia Candy Days.
Despite the difficult financial times that are felt by all, they reached deep into their pockets and surpassed last years local collection. The staff, residents and collection volunteers wish to express deep appreciation to all who participated.
The Misericordia Home relies on people like you for their existence. They will use your money to directly enhance their programs for children and adults. A loving thank you to each and everyone of you.
A thank you is also in order for the many volunteers who manned the corners and shops, especially in Saturday's rain. Your assistance is the foundation of this endeavor. Please know that the fruits of your efforts will enhance the lives of the 500-plus residents at Misericordia Home. Many of you have been with us for over 10 years; some of our high school volunteers were there for the first time. We welcome all of you and your friends back next year.
The organizational leadership from the staff and customers at the Twice Blest Thrift Shop in Palatine continues. We thank them for this and for their every day, all year activity that supplies ongoing support for this worthy cause.
Thank you one final time, and we'll be back with our red and white vests again next year. We look forward to seeing all of your smiling faces.
