One of the men, 22-year-old Joshua Wheaton of Evergreen Park, was reportedly shot and slightly wounded by officers early Sunday after he was seen firing a weapon himself.
Chicago Police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli says Wheaton was charged with two counts of aggravated assault of a police officer while carrying a firearm and two counts of attempted first-degree murder.
The other man, 21-year-old Adam Hurtado of Chicago, was charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder.
