St. Charles police arrest teen in connection with car burglaries
St. Charles police arrested a local teen late Thursday they believe is responsible for at least two car burglaries and possibly several more.
Mattieu E. Binet, 18, of the 300 block of Brownstone Drive in St. Charles had his initial day in court Friday, charged with two felony counts of burglary to a motor vehicle. Police took him into custody after an investigation linked Binet to entering several vehicles on the southeast side of St. Charles, in the area of the 1600 block of Madison Avenue on Sunday. Police also caught Binet with property taken from a Toyota Scion parked on the 1000 block of Geneva Road Tuesday.
The investigation is not over. Police believe it is possible other burglaries occurred in the neighborhoods surrounding those streets. Any citizen who suspects their car was burglarized while parked in those areas between Sunday and Tuesday should contact St. Charles Police.
