Naperville man charged with child porn
A Naperville man may face up to five years in prison if convicted of storing illicit images in his computer of children engaged in sex acts.
Police arrested 32-year-old Aaron A. Thomas earlier this week after an 18-month investigation. He is charged with possession of child pornography.
Detectives with Naperville police's computer crimes unit began investigating Thomas in November 2007. They later searched his former home on Capistrano Court in Naperville and seized several computers and other electronic media as part of their investigation.
Months later, a forensic examination of the electronics turned up "numerous images and movies of child pornography," police said in a Friday statement.
A DuPage County judge issued a warrant Monday for his arrest. Police picked him up Tuesday. Thomas, who lives on Vista Circle, remained Friday afternoon at the DuPage County jail on a $75,000 bond.
