Garden tours
• Guided walks of Millennium Park's Lurie Garden are from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sundays through Sept. 20. These walks are free and led by a master gardener from the University of Illinois. Chicago Botanic Garden
• The 43rd annual A Bloomin' Sale, sponsored by the Chicago Horticultural Society's Women's Board, carries the theme of "Going Green" from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, May 17. More than 30,000 items are featured.
• Learn about Japanese culture during the Malott Japanese Garden Children's Festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, May 17. There also will be the Midwest Bonsai Society Spring Show and Sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. the same day.
• The Northshore Iris and Daylily Society Iris Show and Sale is from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, May 23 and 24.
• The Garden Chef Series demonstrations feature more than 40 chefs demonstrating creative ways to use garden-fresh produce. The series commences 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 23, and continues weekends until Sunday, Oct. 4.
