Shining a light on Wheeling police

If you are not a resident of Wheeling, beware of Wheeling police sitting on Lake-Cook Road. If you have one of your headlights on your vehicle out, you will get a $20 ticket for the headlight out. So, if you have a headlight go out, you need to pull the car over and have it towed home, otherwise the Wheeling police will give you a ticket for one of your headlights out.

I could see getting a ticket if you were warned to get the light fixed and you were stopped a second time and still did not get it fixed, but to give out a ticket for something that just happened and you did not know it was not working is ridiculous.

I cannot believe that a village like Wheeling is so desperate for money that they go after a petty thing like one broken headlight. This is just an example of trying to find revenue anywhere.
