Swine flu cartoon insensitive, insulting

The local Hispanic community feels insulted by your editorial cartoon published on Thursday, April, 30th. This cartoon reflects how insensitive people can be.

The swine flu (H1N1) is really affecting Mexicans in Mexico. Their religious, economic, and social life is on hold. People have closed businesses, canceled social and sporting events, and closed schools. The country is on hold in all aspects.

Families are affected for the loss and illness of their relatives. We see no humor in your cartoon. This is detrimental to the integrity of Mexicans in Mexico and America. It's not funny to see a pig flying over the fence of our borders. You've lost sight of the seriousness and impact of this situation.

In conclusion, we ask that you be aware of the global impact of your editorial comments.
