Fire news more vital than Drew's arrest

I am so disappointed in our television media.

Last week there was a 16-alarm fire in Rolling Meadows that left more than 12 families homeless. They were homeless with no clothing, and all their treasures, pictures, etc. gone. We only knew about it because the smoke blew over a mile away and filled our home because we had our windows open.

My family and I waited to see the news to find out what they might need. Unfortunately the breaking news story was about Drew Peterson's arrest. Breaking news? Are you kidding me?

People lost their homes and all of their possessions, but Drew Peterson was all you could find on all the news channels' Oh wait, they had a 30-second blurb about the fire. I find it disgusting.

Maybe the reporters should rethink their "Breaking News." We would have gladly helped the families out with clothing, food, etc. but we couldn't find out any information. Sadly enough we now know too much about Drew Peterson.
