Severe thunderstorm watch in effect until 4 a.m..

The National Weather Serivce has replaced an earlier tornado watch with a severe thunderstorm watch for Cook, DuPage, Lake, Will and Kendall counties that will continue until 4 a.m. Thursday.

Severe thunderstorms with heavy rain, high winds and hail moved through the Chicago area Wednesday night.

The storms caused some problems for travelers at Chicago's airports.

On Thursday night, O'Hare reported 45-minute delays and canceled around 100 flights.

Flights in and out of Midway were about ten minutes behind schedule. So far there have been no cancellations there.
