Judge to rule in museum's move to lakefront park
A judge says he will rule within a few weeks on a lawsuit that seeks to block the Chicago Children's Museum from relocating to Grant Park, on the city's downtown lakefront.
Cook County Circuit Court Judge Martin Agran heard arguments Tuesday in the suit brought by residents of a building that sits across the street from the proposed site. They say they weren't given required legal notice of the museum's plan.
The residents' attorney, Patrick Ruberry, also says court rulings have long established Grant Park as open space.
Lawyers for the city say the residents weren't on Cook County tax rolls when legal notices went out. Museum officials contend their plan would do little to alter the park because the new facility would be built mostly underground.
