Keith Urban's tour comes to the Allstate Arena

Aussie country singer Keith Urban brings his Escape Together World Tour to the Allstate Arena this weekend. The proud new poppa to Nicole Kidman's mama is flying high promoting his new album, "Defying Gravity." The Zac Brown Band opens.

Keith Urban performs at 7:30 p.m. today, May 15, at the Allstate Arena, 6920 N. Mannheim Road, Rosemont. Tickets are $20 to $59.50, available at the box office or through Ticketmaster at (800) 745-3000 or ticketmaster.com. Don't forget parking is $20, cash only.

Echo resounds twice

The local hard-rock band Echo Star, including bassist Ian Palmer of Palatine, plays a pair of shows this weekend to celebrate the release of its new EP, "Novella," produced in Nashville by Niko Bolas, who has worked with Neil Young, Kiss and Warren Zevon.

Echo Star plays today, May 15, at Spring Fest in downtown Plainfield and Sunday at the Elbo Room, 2871 N. Lincoln Ave., Chicago. Both start at 9:30 p.m., with Lucid Ground opening at Elbo Room. Pass the Can again

The Empty Can Band is back out this weekend with another show in which the classic-rock group asks concertgoers to bring nonperishable food items for donation to the Aurora Area Interfaith Food Pantry.
