Mine That Bird heads to Preakness

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Kentucky Derby winner Mine That Bird is on his way to Pimlico.

The 50-1 long shot and trainer Bennie Woolley Jr. left Barn 42 at Churchill Downs Tuesday morning to make their way east to Maryland, where Mine That Bird runs in the Preakness Stakes on Saturday.

Mine That Bird, with jockey Calvin Borel aboard, made a last-to-first dash that culminated with the second-biggest upset in Derby history on May 2.

Borel won't be on Mine That Bird in the Preakness, instead riding filly Rachel Alexandra. Jockey Mike Smith, who won the Derby in 2005 aboard Giacomo, will get the mount Saturday.

Woolley said his horse has been training well since the Derby.
