Sun City clubs
Neighborhood 11 is calling all golfers to a golf outing on Friday, June 19 at Craig Woods Golf Course, routes 47 and 176 in Woodstock. Tee-off time is 9 a.m. and the cost of 9 holes of golf with cart is $23 per person. Lunch will follow about 2 hours after the last group tees off, at Crystal Woods Golf Club located across Route 47. There will be lunch options depending on how many people take part. Lunch can be off the menu or a buffet-style lunch of burgers, brats, and hot dogs with the usual sides at a cost of $10 to $12 per person. You can put your own foursome together or you can be assigned to a foursome for play. You have the choice of golf, lunch or both. Sun City Concert Band: On Thursday, May 14, the Sun City Concert Band will present "Movies and Musicals," a tribute to American musical entertainment, at 7 p.m. in the Drendel Ballroom at the Prairie Lodge, 12880 Del Webb Blvd. in Sun City. The program is designed to please the audience with a variety of musical renditions. Selections are sure to bring back memories of familiar tunes and shows. Theatre Company of Sun City: The Theatre Company of Sun City will present the production of "Brigadoon" at 7 p.m. May 21-23 and 1:30 p.m. May 24 in Drendel Hall in the Prairie Lodge of Sun City. All seats are reserved. Eat at the Walleye Grill before or after the show and receive 15 percent off the price of your meal by showing your ticket to your server. Tiara Tea Society: On Thursday, May 28, the Tiara Tea Society will enjoy a Caribbean-inspired lunch at Bahama Breeze in Schaumburg. Entree choices are: Bahamian grilled chicken or beef kebabs, jerked chicken pasta, or pan-seared fresh catch of day. Salad and beverage is included. Price is $25. Golf Cart Parade: It's time to put on your thinking caps and think of what you'll do to your golf cart. Do you decorate or not. No matter what you do, consider joining in on the fun in the Golf Cart Parade on Sunday, June 28. Golf carts can be entered individually, or by clubs or neighborhoods. The Prairie State Life Organ Club: At the last meeting, they enjoyed a talent/hobby show. Presenters included story telling, origami, painting, calligraphy, music and quilt making. Sue Koldan, president of the club, won first prize for her quilting. The next meeting will be in June with dates to follow.
Cribbage: On May 6, Bill Hernke took first place with a score of 482 points. Second place was won by Jim Jemilo with 474 points. High individual hands were posted by Wally Bartels 24, 21, 20; Carol Charpentier 21, 20; Sandi Mis 21; Jemilo and Pete Moseler 20. There were 7 skunks.
