High schools to honor graduating seniors

Bartlett High
• On Monday, the Bartlett High School Senior Class Supper will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. at The Seville in Streamwood.
• On Wednesday, the Spring Orchestra Concert will be presented at 7 p.m. in the auditorium, 701 Schick Road. Tickets are available at the door for $2 per adult, $1 per student or senior citizen, and $6 per family.
Elgin High
• On Thursday, the Spring Orchestra Concert will be presented at 7 p.m. in the Elgin High School auditorium, 1200 Maroon Drive. This concert celebrates the graduating seniors as well as soloists Tonia Conte, Jennifer Meyer and Stanley Moore. Tickets are available at the door for $2 per adult, $1 per student or senior citizen, and $6 per family.
Larkin High
• On Monday, the Concert Orchestra and the Symphony Orchestra will perform, under the direction of Kelly Larson. Tickets are available at the door for $2 per adult, $1 per student or senior citizen, and $6 per family. The show will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the Larkin High School auditorium, 1475 Larkin Ave., Elgin.
• On Tuesday, band students under the direction of Pat Henning, will perform their Spring Concert at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available at the door for $2 per adult, $1 per student or senior citizen, and $6 per family. Join them in the auditorium for an enjoyable evening of music. .
South Elgin High
• On Tuesday, the Orchestra will present a concert at 7 p.m. in the South Elgin High School auditorium, 760 E. Main St. Tickets are available at the door for $2 per adult, $1 per student or senior citizen, and $6 per family.
Streamwood High
• On Thursday, band students will present their Spring Band Concert at 7 p.m. in the Streamwood High School auditorium, 701 W. Schaumburg Road. Tickets are available at the door for $2 per adult, $1 per student or senior citizen, and $6 per family.
Abbott
• On Tuesday, the Abbott Middle School orchestra students will present their Spring Concert at 7 p.m. in the gym, 949 Van St., Elgin.
Canton
• On Tuesday, the Canton Middle School orchestra students will present their Spring Concert at 7 p.m. at Streamwood High School, 701 W. Schaumburg Road. Also participating are orchestra students in fourth to sixth grade from the feeder schools including Glenbrook, Hanover Countryside, Hilltop, Oakhill and Ridge Circle.
• On Thursday, the choral students will present a Spring Choral Concert at 7 p.m. in the gym, 1100 Sunset Circle, Streamwood.
Ellis
• On Tuesday, a band concert will be performed at 7 p.m. in the Ellis Middle School auditorium, 225 S. Liberty St., Elgin. Tickets are available at the door for $2 per adult, $1 per student or senior citizen, and $6 per family.
• On Wednesday, an Orchestra Concert will be performed at 7 p.m. in the auditorium. Tickets are available at the door for $2 per adult, $1 per student or senior citizen, and $6 per family.
• On Thursday, an honor roll dinner will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the gym. All students that were on the honor roll during the school year will be honored along with their parents at a potluck dinner.
Kenyon Woods
• On Thursday, students present their spring orchestra concert at 7 p.m. in the Kenyon Woods Middle School gym, 1515 Raymond St., South Elgin. Feeder school orchestra students from Harriet Gifford, Hillcrest, Lowrie, Otter Creek and Washington elementary schools in fourth to sixth grade will also participate.
Larsen
• On Wednesday, a choral concert will be performed at 7 p.m. in the Larsen Middle School auditorium, 665 Dundee Ave., Elgin. Admission is $2 per adult and $1 per student. Choral awards will be presented during the concert.
• On Thursday, the Spring Orchestra Concert will be performed from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the auditorium. Admission is $2 per adult and $1 per student. *
Bartlett
• On Friday, Bartlett Elementary fifth-grade students will present a White House Tea, sharing the results of their research on famous people who might have been invited to the White House. Parents and the school community are invited.
Laurel Hill
• On Wednesday, Laurel Hill Elementary School hosts an after-school program sponsored by Hanover Township. Second-graders can enjoy fun activities and get help with homework.
• On Thursday, parents and students are invited to attend Family Math Night from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the multipurpose room and gym, 1750 Laurel St., Hanover Park. They will all have fun while working on math activities.
Lowrie
• On Friday, Lowrie Elementary students are encouraged to bring gently used children's books to school for their monthly Book Swap at 2:30 p.m. Students are able to exchange one book for two.
Otter Creek
• On Monday, the Otter Creek Elementary fifth- and sixth-grade band students will present a concert at 7 p.m. at Abbott Middle School, 949 Van St., Elgin. It was previously scheduled at Larkin High School May 4 during the school closure.
• On Tuesday, the orchestra students present their Spring Concert at 7 p.m. at Abbott Middle School.
Parkwood
• On Friday, the Parkwood Elementary Chorus, made up of 17 students in third to fifth grade, will present the musical "I Need a Vacation" to residents of Lexington Health Facility at 1 p.m. It is an opportunity for students to share their musical skills.
Spring Trail
• On Friday, fifth-grade students at Spring Trail Elementary School in Carol Stream will participate in Civil War Day during school hours.
Washington
• On Monday through Wednesday, Washington Elementary sixth-grade students will be attending camp.
• On Friday, the annual Ice Cream Social will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the school, 819 W. Chicago St., Elgin. Food will be available for purchase, along with games including a cake walk.
Wayne
• On Tuesday, there will be a new family registration from 9 to 11 a.m. at Wayne Elementary School, 5N443 School St., Wayne.
• On Friday, the annual School Fun Fair from 5 to 8 p.m. will have games, food, and a raffle, including a chance to win a hot-air balloon ride.
• On Saturday, the U-46 Middle School Soccer Tournament will be held at the Elgin Sports Complex from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is free.
In other news
• Larkin High School recently announced two teams in Renee Bulatek's Internet Concepts/Web Page Design classes placed first and third in the spring competition of the Illinois Stock Market Game. There were 280 teams participating from Illinois high schools. Congratulations to both first-place winners: Cody Wahl and Edgar Velazquez, and third-place winners: Evan Severson, Juan Silvestre, Casey Siripanya, and Shiena Tolentino. A team from South Elgin High School in Walt Gola's classes came in second place. They are Amber Golz, Julie Konieczski, and Courtney Litchfield.
• Two Streamwood High School students were top 10 overall finalists at the International D.E.C.A. (Distributive Education Clubs of America) Conference in Anaheim, Calif. Sabrina Minhas and Jessica Bogard were recognized on May 2 at the grand awards ceremony as semifinalists placing top 17 overall on written and role-playing events. In addition, they competed in the final round and placed top 10 overall in both events.
