Don't give CTA any more money
This year, I am asking that you do not give extra money to Transit Capital Funding.
This happens every year: They threaten to stop the most traveled routes, and we just throw more money at them. It's almost like a yearly bailout ... wait ... it IS a yearly bailout.
Let them go out of business and then maybe some competition will spring up. I bet the drivers would be rallying to get more passengers if they made a commission on the number of travelers they manage to transport! Maybe if they were more friendly (now, I don't mean all of them, because many of the drivers are actually very friendly), people would be more inclined to ride public transit. Transit cannot survive despite being a monopoly?
Vote No! Don't give them any more money!
