Green thumb clubs

Garden tours

• Guided walks of Millennium Park's Lurie Garden are from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sundays through Sept. 20. These walks are free and led by a master gardener from the University of Illinois. Preregistration is not required.

Chicago Botanic Garden

• The American Rhododendron Society Show & Sale is from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, May 10.

• The 43rd annual "A Bloomin' Sale," sponsored by the Chicago Horticultural Society's Women's Board, carries the theme of "Going Green" from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 15, and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, May 16 and 17. More than 30,000 items are featured.

• Learn about Japanese culture during the Malott Japanese Garden Children's Festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, May 16 and 17.

• The Midwest Bonsai Society Spring Show and Sale is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, May 16 and 17.
