One injured in car-dump truck collision in Geneva

Geneva Police continue to investigate a Friday morning crash in the middle of the intersection of Fabyan Parkway and Kirk Road in Geneva.

A car and empty semitrailer collided in the intersection just after 5:30 a.m., and the car caught fire after the crash.

Batavia Fire Battalion Chief Randy Baker said the male driver of the automobile was transported from the scene to Delnor Hospital with serious injuries.

Police checked with the hospital and determined those injuries were not life threatening, Geneva Cmdr. Julie Nash said late Friday afternoon. No further information regarding the victim was available, she said.

Police said the intersection was closed for about 15 minutes and the northbound lane of Kirk Road and westbound Fabyan Parkway were shut down for about an hour while the accident was tended to, police said.
