Man indicted for traveling for sex with minor

BALTIMORE -- Federal prosecutors say a grand jury has indicted a Chicago man on charges of interstate travel to have sex with a 12-year-old girl.

Twenty-year-old Vincent Karczynski was indicted on Thursday. No court date has been set for him.

According to the indictment, Karczynski began communicating over the Internet, by cell phone and text message with the victim. Prosecutors say on March 27, Karczynski traveled to Baltimore from Chicago and met the 12-year-old and a friend at a mall. On March 27 and 28, prosecutors say Karczynski and the victim went to a movie, where they had sexual contact.

On March 28, the victim's mother found a message on the victim's cell phone indicating sexual activity with the sender of the message.

Police arrested Karczynski at a hotel where he was staying.
