Double-trailer semi-truck flips over into ditch on I-90
Illinois Police officials are still trying to determine why a double-trailer semi-truck flipped over in a ditch early Friday morning on the Jane Addams Tollway near Huntley.
Master Sgt. Pete Howe of the Illinois State Police said the semi flipped over in the ditch off the eastbound lanes of I-90, about 2.5 miles west of Route 47 at about 4 a.m. Friday.
The driver of the semi was not injured in the rollover, Howe said, and refused treatment at the scene.
The two eastbound lanes of I-90 were closed for about two hours while officials uprighted the semi, Howe said. One lane reopened just after 6 a.m. and, officials expect the second lane should reopen no later than 8 a.m.
He said, while the semi flipped over in the ditch, the whole highway was needed to upright the truck and get it out of the area.
He said police are still trying to determine why the driver veered off the road into the ditch. No citations have been issued in the accident.
