Gages Lake man denies sex charge

A 36-year-old Warren Township man charged with repeatedly molesting a young girl in 2005 pleaded not guilty Wednesday in Lake County Circuit Court.

Michael Moore, of the 18000 block of Gages Lake Road in unincorporated Gages Lake, is charged with predatory sexual assault of a child.

Assistant State's Attorney Ryan Koehl said Moore is accused of molesting the girl while visiting members of her family.

Lake County sheriff's police were called when the girl recently told a family member of the attacks.

Associate Judge Daniel Shanes told Moore he faces a mandatory prison sentence of six to 30 years if convicted of the offense.

Shanes scheduled a trial of the case for July 27 and told Moore, who is free after posting $10,000 cash for bond, to appear in court June 2.
