Aurora police say door-to-door swine flu testing just a scam
Aurora police are warning residents about a door-to-door swine flu testing scam.
Police said they were alerted Tuesday by the Aurora-based Visiting Nurses Association about two women reported going door on the 600 block of Watson Street offering $3 tests for swine flu.
The women were described as Hispanic between the ages of 17 and 20 and were claiming to be representatives of the visiting nurses group. VNA officials said they have no representatives going door-to-door.
Police said the pair attempted the scam Friday, but know of no residents who fell for it. Police said the women were offering to perform blood pressure and glucose tests. They also distributed a sheet of paper listing "eight symptoms" of swine flu.
Anyone who may have been victimized or has information about the women is urged to call Aurora police at (630) 801-6655.
